1:4 GROUP LEARNING

At AFY Autism & Special Needs Centre, we prioritize a small teacher-to-student ratio of 1:4. This allows us to provide personalized, focused attention to each child while tailoring our approach to suit their unique developmental needs.

Our goal is to foster engagement and social interaction skills, creating a learning environment where children can thrive both academically and socially. By maintaining a low student-to-teacher ratio, we ensure that every child receives the support they need for meaningful progress in a nurturing environment.

OBJECTIVE

Our Early Intervention Program (EIP) is designed to equip children with essential life skills and school readiness skills. By building a strong foundation in these key areas, we aim to help children navigate daily tasks and learning experiences with greater confidence and independence.

Our focus is on fostering self-sufficiency, communication skills, and social skills, all of which are crucial for success in both everyday life and academic settings.

Hippotherapy Horse Therapy

HORSE THERAPY/HIPPOTHERAPY
@UPM Serdang

At AFY Autism & Special Needs Centre, we are proud to offer Horse Therapy (also known as Hippotherapy) at UPM Serdang, a proven therapeutic approach for children with autism, developmental delays, and other special needs.

Hippotherapy uses the natural movement of horses to help improve balance, coordination, and motor skills, while also promoting emotional well-being and enhancing social interaction. This unique form of therapy for autism and developmental delays allows children to engage in a dynamic and interactive environment, fostering confidence, self-regulation, and physical strength.

Our experienced hippotherapy therapists work closely with each child to ensure they receive tailored therapeutic support that benefits their physical development, motor planning, and emotional growth. Through horse therapy, children experience positive outcomes in both their physical and emotional well-being, all while having fun and engaging in the process.

By integrating horse therapy into our diverse treatment options, we help children reach their full potential in a supportive and nurturing environment.

BENEFITS

Hippotherapy (Horse Therapy) offers numerous therapeutic benefits for children with special needs, particularly in areas such as sensory stimulation, sensory regulation, and the development of motor skills. The rhythmic movement of the horse naturally aids in sensory processing and sensory integration, improving the child’s ability to respond effectively to sensory input.

Additionally, hippotherapy promotes the development of motor skills, balance, and coordination. As children work with the horse, they improve their posture, strength, and physical coordination, which are essential for daily functioning. The gentle yet engaging nature of the therapy encourages eye contact, social interaction, and emotional regulation, allowing children to boost their confidence in a supportive and fun environment.

The interactive aspect of horseback riding therapy also helps to strengthen emotional well-being, making it an excellent option for children with autism and other developmental delays. Through consistent hippotherapy sessions, children experience both physical and emotional growth, leading to improved overall health and self-esteem.

OBJECTIVE

The primary objective of hippotherapy for children with special needs is to utilize the movement and interaction with horses to enhance physical, emotional, and cognitive development. Through the rhythmic motion of the horse, this therapy specifically aims to improve sensory processing, motor skills, balance, and coordination, providing children with essential skills that support their daily lives.

Additionally, hippotherapy fosters emotional regulation, social skills, and self-confidence by offering an engaging, interactive environment where children can build positive relationships and emotional resilience. By participating in horseback riding therapy, children are able to develop both physical strength and emotional well-being, leading to improved overall health.

Through this dynamic and therapeutic approach, hippotherapy supports functional improvement and contributes to an enhanced quality of life for children with autism, developmental delays, and other special needs.

HALF HOUR CLASS

At AFY Autism & Special Needs Centre, we have found that Hippotherapy (Horse Therapy) for children with special needs is most effective when delivered in 30-minute sessions. This duration ensures focused, intensive therapy, while also preventing fatigue, which can often reduce a child's engagement and the overall therapeutic benefits.

The 30-minute session is ideal for promoting motor skills, balance, coordination, and emotional regulation in children, allowing them to remain attentive and motivated throughout their time with the horse. This time frame has been proven to provide maximum therapeutic benefit without overwhelming the child, helping them stay engaged and energetic for the full session.

Each hippotherapy session is carefully tailored to meet the individual needs of the child, ensuring they get the most out of the time spent during therapy. Our professional therapists aim to make each 30-minute session a positive, rewarding experience that leads to lasting progress.

AGE RANGE

Our Hippotherapy (Horse Therapy) sessions are suitable for children aged 3 and above, providing tailored therapeutic benefits through interaction with horses. Whether the child has autism, developmental delays, or other special needs, this unique therapy supports their physical, emotional, and social development. The sessions are carefully designed to meet the specific needs of each child, ensuring they receive maximum benefit from the horseback riding therapy.

By starting early, children can experience significant improvements in motor skills, sensory integration, and emotional regulation, all of which play a vital role in their overall growth and confidence.
